Reuterina® Vit D3 (10ml)

Reuterina drops with vitamin D3 contains the patented lactic acid bacterium Limosilactobacillus reuteri (formerly known as Lactobacillus reuteri) Protectis® (L. reuteri DSM 17938) that helps the good microorganisms restore a natural balance in the gut.

L. reuteri Protectis® naturally colonizes humans it has a strong adaptation to persist and interact with humans. L. reuteri Protectis® has been tested in more than 150 clinical trials and proven effective and safe for children.

Vitamin D3 contributes to the normal function of the immune system in children and is also needed for normal growth and development of bone in children.

These drops are specifically formulated with 400IU Vitamin D3, which acts to enhance the absorption of calcium and phosphate in the body. These drops can be used daily to assist with immune modulation. Reuterina® Vit D has been clinically validated, with beneficial effects in a variety of health conditions including:

Instructions:

  • Shake bottle well
  • Turn the bottle upside down and squeeze gently.
  • Give the drops on a spoon, dummy or bottle teat.
  • Do not add the drops to food or drinks as heat may damage the live cultures.


One dose of 5 drops consists of a minimum of 100 million (108) live, freeze-dried colony forming units (CFU) Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis® (strain DSM 17938) until expiry.

Each 0,2ml (5 drops) contain a minimum of 100 million live, freeze-dried colony forming units (CFU) Limosilactobacillus reuteri Protectis® (strain DSM 17938) until expiry and 400 IU Vitamin D3.

Excipients: Medium chain triglyceride oil, silicon dioxide, sunflower oil.

For infants and children younger than 2 years of age: Give five (5) drops daily, or as recommended by a healthcare professional.

Adults and children older than 2 years of age who cannot chew or wish to take the drops rather than Reuterina ® chew tables: Take five (5) drops daily, or as recommended by a healthcare professional.

Shake the tube well before use. To dispense, turn the bottle upside down and the drops will form slowly. The drops can be given directly into the mouth or on a spoon. the drops should not be added to hot food or drink as the heat may damage the live cultures.

My baby is constipated and the pharmacy gave him Reuterina® Vit D3 and not Reuterina® drops but nothing happened this far using the Reuterina® Vit D3.

Reuterina® drops and Reuterina® Vit D3 contain the same strain of probiotic and the same dosage, however, Reuterina® D3 does contain 400IU’s of Vitamin D3 in addition to the probiotic. Reuterina® is a live micro-organism and needs a few days to colonise the gastrointestinal tract, however, if baby is still constipated after 7 days, it is advised that you speak to your healthcare provider as additional interventions, such as a change in diet, may be required.

Are Reuterina® Vit D3 drops safe for newborns?

Are Reuterina® Vit D3 drops safe for newborns? Reuterina® drops are indicated from birth, however, it is best to consult your healthcare professional for advice on your baby as they have access to any medical and birth  information required to make a decision regarding any form of supplementation.

How should I give Reuterina® Vit D3?

  • Shake well
  • Turn bottle upside down and squeeze gently, letting the drops form one by one
  • Drop 5 drops onto a spoon, dummy, teat or directly onto the breast
  • Give to baby orally

I was given Reuterina® Vit D3 instead of Reuterina® drops, what is the difference?

Reuterina® Vit D3 contains the same amount of probiotic bacteria as Reuterina® drops, but includes 400IU’s of Vit D3 to assist with immune modulation. In addition to this, Reuterina® Vit D3 is comes in a 10 ml bottle, meaning it will last twice as long.
